There are racetracks that will lease time to the daredevils, but too many of these guys are getting their adrenaline fix in traffic, where others are endangered.

A couple of years ago I worked in a building close to where those daredevils gather at night to do their thing. Once, just across the street, I saw a couple in their thirties wander around the median. Curious, I walked over and asked what they were doing. The woman explained that she was looking for the spot where some guy ran her husband off the road (her husband was on a BLEEP rocket). I told her that her husband was one of those adrenaline junkies and if he didn't change his ways, he'd end up dead. She defended him, saying her husband didn't do those kind of things. I told her to stop living on a river in Egypt and to check his life insurance policy so he wouldn't leave her in a lurch, and I walked off.
